On the third of April 2014, the eleven grade's student of 3 Senior High School Bandung went to Bali to join our study tour. First, we came together to the station in the evening. We went by train to Surabaya. Then, we continued our trip to Ketapang Harbor by bus. After that, we crossed the sea by a ferry to reach Bali Island. Finally, we arrived at Denpasar in the midnight. We stayed at Nirmala Hotel for three days.
On the first day, we went to Tanjung Benoa Beach. Tanjung Benoa is a beutiful place where culture and modern life seem to blend harmoniously. It has sandy beaches lining its coast. Tanjung Benoa was recently appointed the water sports center in Bali. We played some water sports there, like jetski, banana boat, parasailing, diving, and we visited Turtle Island too. Because of my fear of height and because I didn't bring another trouser, I just visited Turtle Island by boat. I was very happy because I met my old friend in Junior High School. We took some photos there. After that, we went to Pudjamandala to pray dzuhur. For your information, Pudjamandala is a place where Mosque, Pura, Vihara, and Church are located in the same area. Then we visited Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park. There is a statue which called Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue. Garuda Wisnu Kencana is a massive, unfinished statue in Bali that exists in pieces. If it is completed, it would depict Dewa Wisnu riding on Garuda's wings. Beside that, we watched Kecak Dance which told about Rama and Shinta and of course a monkey whose name is Hanoman. Then, in the evening we had a dinner at Jimbaran Bay. It was very cozy because we ate while listening to the sound of waves.
On the second day, we visited Penglipuran Culture Village. It only has a few houses and it will not increase or decrease. Their leader told us some of their culture. For example, a man who has two wives or more will be expelled and placed in a bad place. After that, we went to Kintamani. Kintamani is one of the most favorite place in Bali with the active volcano of Mount Batur and Batur Lake which is very beautiful. We also had lunch at Kintamani Restaurant which provides traditional food and international food. Then, we coninued our trip to Sukowati Market to buy some souvenirs and merchandise. The second day was ended by Makrab or Malam Keakraban. It just like family gathering but in a bigger family.
On the last day, we went to Pandawa Beach, one of the most beautiful beach in Bali. After that, we bought some souvenirs in Krisna. In the end, we visited Kuta Beach for a moment before we went back to Bandung. Then, we had to go to Ngurah Rai International Airport. That was the end of the study tour. I was very happy because I had been given a chance to join this great trip with all of my friends.
